YMCA Scholarship

The YMCA has one scholarship to offer for a week at Camp Wakonda this summer.  They are looking for students with financial need who would greatly benefit from a week at camp.  Dawson Osborne was our award recipient last year.  Students must write a one page essay about why they should be selected for this opportunity.

Interested students should submit their essay by May 6th to their respective office.

Thursday, April 14th at the Clever High School

One week from today (Pray for sunshineJ) is the Strike Out Childhood Cancer night at the ballfieldsJ

We have many fun and exciting things going  on that night. From a dizzy bat competition (which I’m very excited about), a sparkle contest, vendors (who are selling things from homemade signs, and kettle corn; to seeing how fast you can throw a strike using a radar gun) the ball games, and finally a candle light vigil in honor or memory of kids who have fought this battle.

If you bring a new toy, still in its packaging, you can get in for FREE!

If you have family and friends in the area that you could pass this information to, that would be wonderful! I’ve attached a list of toy suggestions if anyone has questions.

Thanks for supporting our endeavor to Strike Out Childhood Cancer!!
